Obi Emelonye is a passionate Nigerian/UK writer, director, producer and academic with a. multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking. Obi has brought his adroitness as a lawyer and a lecturer in filmmaking at the University of Huddersfield to the chaotic world of film. With a 20-year old career replete with international awards, commercial success and critical acclaim, Obi is today one of Africa's most successful filmmakers. He has 5 projects streaming on Netflix and a few more coming on Amazon this year. Black Mail is Obi's 11th Feature film.
ROBERT FORD
CINEMATOGRAPHER
From an early age in Switzerland, Robert Ford was fascinated with movies, and more specifically about how they were made. After studying everything he could in his home country he left for further studies and qualified as a BFA in Filmmaking across the pond in the States. Ever since then he has completely immersed himself in being a cinematographer and tech geek working on a host of films in Hollywood and eventually moved to the UK bringing his unique skills in narrative visual storytelling to the big screen.
ANDREW WEBBER
EDITOR
Andrew Webber always wanted to be a film editor – even before he knew what one was. Citing his father as his biggest inspiration, Andrew has built a career, cutting TV shows and feature-length films which have been sold to streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. He has worked all over the world and his name can be found on some of UK TV's most popular lifestyle and documentary series. He has worked on blockbuster Nollywood movies and is a keen collaborator with Obi Emelonye.
LINDA IKENGA
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Linda Ikenga holds a Master's degree and is a former high-flying early years educational entrepreneur holding key business in London over the last few decades. Now semi-retired, Linda has focused her entrepreneurial energies on her new love - films. BlackMail is her first foray into films as Executive Producer, where her extensive business acumen and resources contributed greatly to making BlackMail happen.
JOEL GOFFIN
ORIGINAL SCORE
Joel Goffin is a multi award winning American film composer and music producer and has composed music for feature films, documentaries, video games, and commercials. With a background in classical music and a love for electronic synthesis, he has composed multiple films in multiple genres by great Nigerian filmmaker Jeta Amata winning multiple awards and accolades. His work always accommodates the form and focus of each individual film director and producer.
SHILOH GODSON
SOUND DESIGN
Shiloh Godson is a Lagos based sound designer, recording engineer, record producer, and composer. His fun, unrestricted, unboxed approach to film-making has literally pushed the borders of film sound design bringing the long-awaited, highly overdue sophistication and modernization to sound design and film audio in the African film space. One of the best of his generation Shiloh has worked on high-profile projects such as The Oratory, Muniat, Badamasi, and now Blackmail.
AMAKA OBI-EMELONYE
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Amaka Obi-Emelonye is a professional with over 10 years of experience as an Executive Producer in films. She holds a Master's Degree from Brunel University and has managed the financing of classic award-winning films such as The Mirror Boy, Last Flight to Abuja, and Badamasi amongst many others. Amaka lives with her filmmaker-husband Obi Emelonye in Chelsea, London.
BOSUN AMAO
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Olatunbosun Amao is a Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker and a project leader. He holds a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a diploma in Management from Herzing College, Canada. He currently serves on the board of Sarasvati Productions, a Winnipeg-based theatre production company and runs his film production company, Bosun Amao Productions, as an arm of GreaterLatter Consulting Limited.
